Welcome to the Erie Cage Bird Club Website!

We are located in Erie, Pennsylvania and serve the Lake Erie communities and surrounding states.  Our Club was founded in 1986 by passionate bird lovers who saw the need for community education and an opportunity to improve the life of each and every bird that we come in contact with and their owners.

The Purpose of the Erie Cage Bird Club is to unite the keepers and breeders of the avian community to promote advances in aviculture, better avian husbandry, and promote a greater interest in cage birds by educating all who breed, exhibit, or keep birds as pets.

ECBC meets once a month and offers many opportunities for our members including educational programs.  Membership in ECBC has many benefits, including free admission to our events,  field trips to aviaries, an extensive library free to members, primary consideration for Adoption Program, fun and fellowship.

Meetings are held every month usually the third Sunday and start at 2 p.m..  We meet in the basement of the Summit United Methodist Church on Townhall Road, Erie, Pa.  Meetings include: a doorprize raffle, Library available to members, educational events, speakers on various bird care related topics.  We sponsor yearly Bird Fairs and Auctions, Breeder's List for members listing birds they raise.

2010  Membership Dues are due in December: Single $15.00, Dual $20.00, Family $27.00

THE ERIE CAGE BIRD CLUB IS PROUD TO HAVE BEEN AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE RECENT MEETING OF THE PENNSYLVANIA GAME COMMISSION WHERE THE PGC WAS VOTING ON A BAN ON THE OWNERSHIP OF NANDAY CONURES IN THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA.  WE WORKED DILIGENTLY TO GET LETTERS, PHONE CALLS, AND FAXES TO THE COMMISSIONERS, OPPOSING THE PROPOSED BAN.   WE ATTENDED THE MEETING IN HARRISBURG AND TESTIFIED BEFORE THE COMMISSION, EXPRESSING OUR OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED BAN.

WE ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY AND PROUD TO REPORT THAT THE PROPOSED BAN ON NANDAYS WAS DEFEATED!    AVICULTURISTS ACROSS OUR STATE WORKED TOGETHER TO PRESENT A UNIFIED FRONT TO DEFEAT THIS RIDICULOUS BAN.
